At a time when some in the marine industry are either consolidating or down sizing their business, Melbourne Yamaha dealer Andrew Shirt at Central Marine has taken the opportunity to expand the dealership.

Central Marine is located at Hastings, a bustling satellite suburb of Melbourne, situated on the shores of Westernport Bay.

'It was simply time to build a facility which is totally focused on delivering top quality service to all our customers' Andrew Shirt said.

'Central Marine services an expansive area from Melbourne all the way through the Mornington Peninsula and Gippsland. We enjoy a good reputation and draw customers from miles around.'

'We purchased Central Marine in 2006, always with a view to relocating once we had properly established ourselves in our market. The opportunity arose to relocate Central Marine to a modern complex just a few hundred meters away from our original site. It was a wonderful prospect and we seized upon it right away.'

The new Central Marine premise is spread across a 2-acre site; prime land fronting a major road leading into Hastings.

A vast undercover showroom welcomes visitors to Central Marine. The showroom has enough space for eight boats on display, while spread through the showroom is a big display of Yamaha outboard engines. All up, there are 46 Yamaha engines on display stands for customers to inspect up close.

Central Marine has a sizeable chandlery and retail section, in addition to a huge inventory of parts. The dealership is home to one of the largest range of Yamaha parts in Australia.

'Our service centre remains as a major strength of Central Marine,' Andrew Shirt said.

'With the new dealership we have doubled our service capability as we now have six fully equipped service bays in the workshop. We have the capability to do absolutely everything required mechanically, from a routine service on a portable Yamaha to a complete re-build on an older engine.'

Central Marine also has the right mix of people working on staff with a team of ten at the dealership. Marc Delphine is one of the key Yamaha trained service technicians, having competed twice in the prestigious Yamaha Marine Tech Grand Prix, an invitation only technical competition.

Central Marine is a full line Yamaha dealership offering customers the complete line up of Yamaha 2-stroke, 4-stroke and VMAX outboard engines. In addition, Central Marine can assist customers with Yamaha’s own YMF finance and YMI insurance products.

The Yamaha Outboard dealer is also an agent for Grady White fibreglass boats and SeaScape aluminium boats.

Yamaha outboards are available through an Australia-wide network of authorised Yamaha outboard dealers. All Yamaha 4-stroke outboards are supported with a full 4-year manufacturer’s warranty and all 2-stroke outboards are backed by a 3-year warranty – standard conditions apply.
