Tonga's Regatta Vava'u and Sail Week 2009 Inaugural event

SW
The First Annual Tonga's Regatta Vava'u and Sail Week is set to kick off on 3 September and continue through 8 September 2009.

This fun-filled week will take place in and around the Northern Island Group of Vava'u in the Kingdom of Tonga. The regatta and sail week is designed to showcase this beautiful island group along with its world-class cruising waters and safe anchorages plus introduce participants to the Tongan people and friendly Polynesian culture.

The week starts with a huge welcoming party at the Fangafoa Marina waterfront in Neiafu and continues with lots of other great activities throughout the following days. Events including a food fair hosted by local restaurants, a Childrens Fun Day, Neiafu Harbour yacht race and pub crawl, the Governor's Cup Yacht Race all capped off with the biggest Full Moon Party that Vava'u has ever seen.

However, it's not all about the fun! Funds generated by the events will go toward focusing awareness on conserving the local marine environment and donations will also go to local charities.

If you or your business is interested in sponsoring or lending your name to this great event, please let us know. With your participation, generosity and support, the Vava'u Regatta and Sail Week will help ensure that the waters in and around the Vava'u Island group will flourish for generations to come.

Please contact Tonga Regatta Vava'u and Sail Week organizers for the week's schedule or look at the program of events and details on Tonga's First Annual Regatta Vava'u and Sail Week official web site: www.RegattaVavau.com
