2009 Hobie MultiEuropeans at Lake Como

With more than 270 entries the 2009 MultiEuropeans will take place in Gravedona, Italy at the wonderful Lake Como from August 1st until August 8th 2009.

Teams from as far as Australia, Sweden and the US have registered in this biggest Hobie Event in 2009.

Sailors are coming from 14 nations to experience the exhilarating Hobie Way of Life. The Italian life style will add to the fabulous atmosphere of Hobie events explains Antonio Cozzoli from the organizing Multilario, a consortium of several renown yacht clubs at Lake Como.

The Europeans will be sailed in the following classes:
Hobie 16
Hobie 14
Hobie TIGER
FX One
Dragoon

Former European Champions but also World Champions like Mitch Booth will join the event. Last year´s Hobie 16 European Champion with the team Jerome de Gal and Marco Iazetto will have a tough time defending their title as many renown sailors like Ingo Delius from Germany. Mitch Booth's son Taylor Booth will compete in the Europeans.
This year´s event will start with the Hobie 16 Youth Fleet, some of those teams who are just returning from the ISAF Event in Brazil. More than 33 youth teams will participate in this fantastic event. Some of them having very experienced Hobie parents, so that it will be very exciting to see, whether they can keep up with their expectations. The women´s discipline and the Masters will also start on 1 August 2009.
