Rayglass has proven itself to be the number one powerboat builder in New Zealand, collecting a record haul of 4 awards at the recent 2009 Hutchwilco New Zealand Boat Show in Auckland.

Rayglass not only again won the coveted Boat of the Show Overall Winner, breaking new ground while doing so, the company also won three other awards: the maximum possible.

Rayglass collected an unprecedented four awards at the show’s annual Boat of the Show Awards, generally acknowledged as the country’s most prestigious boaing awards.

They began by winning the highly competitive Best Commercial Stand of the Show. Independently judged by top exhibition designer Carmel Jones, the Award is open to all exhibitors with stands above a certain size.

In selecting Rayglass to with the Award, Jones said they had created a stand that was 'slick and well detailed, yet simple and with great lighting.' She also noted that the staff were well engaged with the many visitors who had been attracted to the stand and that they 'looked like they were doing the business they were there to do'.

The Rayglass Legend 2500 then collected the GRP Fishing Boat Open Award for the third time, making it one of the country’s most awarded boats!

This was followed by the Rayglass Cruisemaster 850, which won the Boat of the Show: All Purpose Open, again for the second time in a row.

The icing on the cake for the Rayglass team was the announcement that the Rayglass Cruisemaster 850 had also, again for the second year in a row, won the prestigious and much coveted Boat of Show: Overall Winner. This was not only the first time a boat had won back-to-back Overall Winner titles, it was also the first time a boat had won the Overall Winner Award without being a new release.

This was also the first time a single company had won four awards at a single award ceremony. This is because manufacturers and distributors are only allowed to enter a maximum of two boats in the awards.

Rayglass therefore made history by taking out the maximum number of awards possible: winning both their categories, the award for Overall Winner and the award for Best Commercial Stand.
