GPS tracking at British RS Feva Nationals

A sign of the times as GPS race tracking now on dinghies. Weymouth & Portland Sailing Academy plays host to the UK Sekonda RS Feva Nationals over this bank holiday weekend. The Feva class is developing fast around the world, and no-where more so than in the UK where recent squad and open events have seen entries of around fifty boats.

Competition at the Nationals is likely to be more fierce than ever before, but that is far from the whole story. The Feva fleet is known to enjoy its events both on the water and on shore (just like the bigger RS boats) and some special activities are planned this weekend!

A new feature for this regatta will be GPS race tracking on all boats so you can follow race progress from your armchair or indeed the clubhouse at Weymouth. Once the system has been set up a link will be posted from the Class Association website.

Following this Championship, the next major RS Feva event will be the European Championships on Lake Garda over the last week of July. All RS classes love Garda and the Fevas did too when their first Worlds were held there in 2006. Expect to see a serious size fleet for that one.
