Win a brand new Rondar Firefly

by Media on 21 May 2009
Firefly class racing HRSC UK Firefly Association

Competitors in Firefly Open Meetings in 2009 have the chance to win a brand new Rondar Firefly in an exciting prize draw organised by the National Firefly Assn. The prize in this unique competition is a beautiful new Rondar Firefly number 4000 complete with spars, sails, ropes, trolley and fittings.

All sailors have to do to try to win the fully kitted-out F4000 is compete in at least one open meeting from the 24 events listed in the Firefly Association’s packed 2009 calendar. This includes the 63rd National Championships at Hamble from 15 to 22 August.

Almost 300 tickets have already been handed out from the open meetings that have taken place so far this season. Naturally both helms and crews will receive a ticket each and for every open meeting they enter.

Those holding tickets will then be entered into a raffle that will be drawn during a big party to end the fleet’s 63rd season.

The racing in the Firefly fleet may be of a high quality, but with the prize draw it’s a level playing field -- the more opens entered, the greater chance there is of winning. And don’t forget the fun off the water too!

Whether you’re a cash-strapped student, an owner of a wooden Firefly interested in the latest boat or a crew looking at starting to helm, you could be the owner of a new Firefly for the bargain price of an open meeting race. Possibly the best opportunity of a sailing career.

The remaining events eligible for the Firefly raffle are:
