Naked in Auckland

I don’t want to continue the appraisal of the joy of sailing tropical
waters. Only state that for a scandihooligan who is used to slightly
milder temps than this, it is bloody hot.
We have now started the race for the pole position in the second division.
Not that we have given up on catching the leaders, but one step at the
time. The race has evolved to a 3,5 boat race. The girls being the half
boat. They are out of sight at present but definitely not out of the game,
after their nice comeback yesterday. Good on you girls, keep it up. We
cross out fingers that you beat one of the skippers, no names mentioned,
who once claimed that was he ever beaten by the girls he would walk naked
up he streets of Auckland with a pineapple up his ***. Why the otherwise
unnamed captain chose the streets of Auckland is up to the reader to
decipher. So left in our little match race is Amer Sports One, two miles
to windward, and SEB two miles to leeward. As close as it gets. Fun
though, as this tight reaching sometimes becomes a little tractor sailing.
Hard to find the groove where everything just balances up, and hard to
find any waves for exhilarating fun surf. So we keep the pace up by
keeping the boat in perfect balance by shifting weight back and forth in
the boat, and from side to side. A task that definitely helps our at times
exorbitant perspiration. That again is a great aide to the fungi culture
that has emerged from out of the blue. Which is the prime contributor to
our odour of cheese-feet inside the boat. Hm Hm Hm tropical sailing!!!!
Anyhow, sailing is great at the moment, especially as we have found
something that gives us a slight edge on the others. So, doldrums next.
