Medal day at the Lake Garda Expert Olympic regatta

The Expert Olympic regatta taking place at Lake Garda has completed the qualification races and will today hold the 'Medal' races.

Australian Tom Slingsby has the Laser event locked-in. The Radial is between Sophie de Turckheim of France and Francesca Clapcich of Italy.

In the 49er the the Sibello brothers have the Gold tied-up but the other podium places are up for grabs. Britain's Stevie Morrison and Ben Rhodes are in second place, six points ahead of the Danes, Peter and Soren Hansen.

In the Finn class, Giles Scott has a nine point lead ahead of Rafa Trujillo of Spain. Mark Andrews, in fourth, has a chance of a podium place if he can overtake Michael Mair (CZE).

In the 23 boat Star fleet Diego Negri and Ferdinando Colaninno of Italy lead by just two points from Robert Scheidt and Bruno Prada of Brazil who hauled themselves into contention with three wins in the final four races.

In the 470 events, the 470 Women has another runaway leader, with Guilia Conti and Giovannia Micol taking the Gold with Tina Lutz and Susann Beucke of Germany looking to take the silver.

In the 470 Men's event, Italy's Gabrio Zandona leads by two points ahead of Ryunosuke Harada of Japan. And finally Fabian Heidegger of Italy leads the RS:X, with Federico Esposito second.
