49er at Expert Olympic Regatta on Lake Garda SW

The Expert Olympic regatta taking place at Lake Garda has completed three days of racing. In the 49er the Sibello brothers have taken a 19 point lead after nine races, winning four.

Team GBR sailors fill the next three places, Chris Draper and Peter Greenhalgh in second, tied on 29 points with John Pink and Rick Peacock, then Stevie Morrison and Ben Rhodes in fourth.

Britain's Giles Scott leads the Finn event after day three, with a good eight point lead from Rafa Trujillo of Spain, with Czech Michael Maier in third and Mark Andrews, Britain, fourth.

In the Star class Diego Negri and Ferdinando Colaninno of Italy lead by just one point from Johannes Babendererde and Tino Jacobs of Germany. Britain's John Gimson and Ed Grieg are in tenth place of the 23 boat fleet.

In the other events, Tom Slingsby of Australia is crushing the competition in the Laser event. He has won five of the nine races so far. In second is Andreas Geritzer of Austria. In the Radial, Sophie de Turckheim of France is matching Slingsby for race wins but second placed Francesca Clapcich of Italy is sticking to her, just three points adrift.

The 470 Women has another runaway leader, with Guilia Conti winning eight races to lead by 17 points from Tina Lutz of Germany who is the only other race winner.

In the 470 Men's event, Italy's Gabrio Zandona leads by three points ahead of Ryunosuke Harada of Japan. And finally Federico Esposito and Fabian Heidegger of Italy are tied in the lead of the RS:X men's event.
