Maxi Association Regate Pirelli - Coppa Carlo Negri event winners

The second series of the International Maxi Association (I.M.A) Calendar 2009 was concluded in Santa Margherita Ligure on Sunday May 3rd.

Eighteen maxi yachts took part in the event and the Association congratulates MY SONG, helmed by Mr. Pierluigi Loro Piana, winner of the Maxi Racing/Cruising Division.

In the Mini Maxi Racing Division, there were different winners for the long distance race and the inshore series. In the long distance race, Alegre, helmed by Allan Cameron, won the division and Bella Mente, helmed by Hap Fauth, won the three race inshore series.

Ops 5, owned by Mr. Massimo Violati, was the winner of the Mini Maxi Racer/Cruiser Division. Magic Carpet, owned by Mr. Lindsay Owen Jones, was the winner of the Wally Division.

RAN, owned by Mr. Niklas Zennstrom, was the 00 Group winner. The 00 Group is all boats in the Mini Maxi Racing Division, including those not sailed by Owner/Drivers as the IMA rules require.

The third series of the IMA Calendar, reserved to Mini Maxis only, will take place in Naples (Italy) with the regattas of the Tre Golfi series (Offshore Race on the 23rd May – Inshore Races from 27/05/2009 to 30/05/2009).
