Brisbane International Boat Show Bob Wonders
Organiser of the Brisbane International Boat Show, Marine Queensland, has announced the dates of the event at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre, August 28-31 and offering discounted exhibitor rates of up to 15%.

The Brisbane Boat Show, the largest indoor-only boat show in the Southern Hemisphere is in its 49th year. The show has time and again demonstrated that it is a proven location for the marine industry to showcase products and for consumers from throughout South East Queensland and beyond to browse and make a purchase decision.

After a significant consultation process with the show venue and suppliers, Marine Queensland is pleased to announce a 15% reduction on space rates from the 2008 show. This will result in savings of up to thousand’s of dollars for many exhibitors.

For the first time in five years the Brisbane Boat Show will not be sharing the Southbank precinct with the popular Brisbane festival ‘Riverfire’.

This change in event scheduling has allowed event organisers to seriously consider the possibility of utilizing the river front to conduct a range of on-water demonstrations. This change will also mean easier access to the show venue and facilities such as public transport and car parking.

The success of the 2009 Brisbane Tinnie and Tackle Show, also owned and managed by Marine Queensland, proves that boat shows continue to play a significant role in the decision making process when it comes to buying a new boat. Not only did the event set a new crowd record in excess of 31, 600 visitors, Tinnie and Tackle Show exhibitors experienced increases of up to 200% in sales compared to the 2008 show.

Jason Plant, Events Manager, stated: 'For the majority of Queenslanders, owning a boat is still a very affordable activity. People are moving away from overseas holidays and are instead choosing to holiday closer to home and this is why are seeing an increase in the number of people taking up marine based activities such as boating and fishing.'

The Brisbane International Boat Show is the perfect opportunity for all marine businesses to present their product to a qualified buying market. For information at exhibiting at the 2009 Brisbane Boat Show contact Marine Queensland on Tel: (07) 3390 4657 or email: jason@marineqld.com.au
