Top Schools clash at NZ Secondary Schools Team Sailing Championships

Teams, ready to get on the water - NZ Secondary Schools Team Sailing Championship Derry Godbert
The 26th Annual Secondary Schools Team Sailing Championships got underway this week.
This year 25 Teams including 11 from the South Island are challenging for the title at Naval Point, Lyttelton, sailing in two fleets.
The first round robin was finished yesterday in ideal conditions with a light to moderate breeze and clear sky.
Tauranga Boys College, the defending Champions finished the round robin unbeaten, followed by five teams tied on ten wins each, making for a very competitive gold fleet.
Today they started sailing in Gold and Silver Fleets. Half way through the round robin Tauranga Boys and Mahurangi College are undefeated on 4 points each, with Whangarei Boys and Macleans on three points and Kerikeri, Lindesfarne, Marlborough Boys, Napier Girls, St Kentigern College and Westlake on three wins.
In the Silver Fleet Nelson Boys leads the charge with five wins from Queen Charlotte College on four wins and Francis Douglas on three wins. This year six teams will be selected to contest the final.
