IRC Owners Forums with Malcolm Runnalls and Mike Urwin

by Glen Stanaway on 12 Mar 2009
SW

IRC Owner’s forums will be held in Sydney at the RSYS on 18 April and in Melbourne at the SYC on 22 April. The forums are open to boat owners, their representatives and key sailing club personnel. The forums will offer general information about measurement and the fundamental principles of IRC, and address common questions about changing ratings, the impact of hull factors and whether boats can truly be optimised for IRC.

Malcolm Runnalls is Yachting Australia’s Chief IRC Measurer, representative to the International IRC Congress, the Vice Chairman of the International IRC Congress and a member of the IRC Policy Steering Group. Malcolm is respected as one of Australia’s most experienced and consistent IRC measurers.

Mike Urwin is the RORC Rating Office Technical Director and a key member of the IRC Technical Committee. Mike is responsible for the delivery of IRC from the RORC Rating Office and Australia is one of their main constituencies.

Also in attendance will be the staff and management from Yachting Australia involved in delivering IRC who can help with any questions about administration and costs of the IRC system.

The forums are a great opportunity for owners and club representatives to meet with the key people involved in the IRC system here in Australia and should not be missed.
