The Glyn Charles Pursuit Race will take place at Hayling Island SC on Saturday 25 April this year. All proceeds to the John Merricks Sailing Trust.

The Glyn Charles Memorial Race is about fun, fundraising and remembering Glyn, one of Great Britain’s best young sailors, tragically lost in the 1998 Sydney Hobart race.

The fundraising part of the day is run in aid of the John Merrick’s Sailing Trust.

John, a great friend of Glyn’s and a fellow member of the 1996 British Olympic team, died in a car accident in 1997.

The trust was founded in his memory to advance the education and physical and mental development of young people in need (under the age of 25 years) with a view to promoting the achievement of their potential through the sport of sailing.

The John Merricks Sailing Trust does fantastic work and every penny raised will go to support its cause.

One of the largest races in Chichester Harbour, this race is about having fun. It is a true 'celebration of life', and there is a vast haul of prizes to celebrate taking part.

This event is open to all monohull dinghies and small racing keelboats with a PY below 1432.

Entry Fees:

Single hander £6.00 (under 18 £4.00)
Double hander £8.00 (under 18 £5.00)
Three-handed: £10.00
