Maritimo expands its worldwide network

Maritimo, Australia’s luxury cruiser builder continues to defy the economic slump and has appointed a new dealer for its range in the tropical paradise of Puerto Rico.

The new dealership, Yacht Center of the Caribbean, could not be in better hands with president Roger Casellas, a prominent game fishing personality who was once recognised as the world’s #1 Bertram salesman, at the helm.

Casellas formerly directed Latin America sales for the Allied Richard Bertram Marine Group.

He is a licensed United States Coast Guard skipper and is on the board of directors of the Puerto Rico Sportfish Association.

Casellas established his company in 2006 with the objective of assisting its clients to obtain their ‘dream yacht.’

In January the company expanded its sales operations with the opening of new facilities in the Puerto Rico Convention Centre District in San Juan, walking distance from the Club Nautico de San Juan and the San Juan Bay Marina and Boatyard.

When he’s not busily selling boats alongside his marketing manager Christopher Biello, Roger Casellas shows his dedication to the community by organising an annual IGFA (International Game Fish Association) Junior Angler Tournament at the Club Nautico de San Juan.

All funds raised from the tournament go to SER de Puerto Rico, a non-profit entity which cares for children with special needs.

Dave Northrop, president of Maritimo USA, said the company was fortunate in securing the Puerto Rico company as its representative.

'There’s no doubt in my mind that we have the right man and the right organisation to handle the Maritimo marque in Puerto Rico,' Northrop said.

'Roger not only knows the boating industry intimately, he is recognised as a prominent and highly respected member of the business community in Latin America,' he added.
