Lowrance HDS – maximum advantage

The groundbreaking Lowrance High-Definition System (HDS) will soon hit Australian shores, delivering significant advantages for boaters.

This revolutionary series of multi-function displays combines built-in award-winning Lowrance Broadband Sounder™ technology, innovative chartplotting and intuitive operation in an attractive new case design that is more convenient to install. Fully expandable, the HDS also accommodates Ethernet radar and NMEA2000 networking for fuel, engine and boat-operations management solutions.

Available in fully sunlight-viewable HDS5 (12.7cm), HDS7 (16.3cm), HDS8 (21.3cm) and HDS10 (26.4cm) screen sizes, in several configurations, the Lowrance HDS series is the ideal solution for boaters who require an easily networked or standalone electronics package.

For anglers, Broadband Sounder™ delivers peerless echo clarity and the highest underwater definition ever achieved by Lowrance – in both freshwater and saltwater, from shallow water through to extreme sea depths. In a nutshell, the system’s greater sensitivity, minimal clutter and amazing separation of fish from cover helps anglers find more fish.

The HDS series also offers remarkable mapping functionality, including support for the full-range of Navionics® cartography. The exclusive HDS built-in graphics engine, TurboView™, delivers seamless zooms and 2D-3D chart displays, striking depth views in 2D and 3D, plus high-speed panning/zooming with aerial views for all Platinum chartcards, and seamless zoom for Navionics® Gold.

An easy-to-operate user interface – which incorporates a revised menu structure, advanced LED backlighting, soft-keys and unique FlyWheel™ operation on some models – simplifies access to frequently-used and highly-advanced features.

While the ultra high-sensitivity, internal GPS antenna is perfect for most installations, an external antenna is available as an option. This external antenna updates five times per second, as opposed to once per second with other external antennas, which provides more ‘real-time’ accuracy.

The first multi-function system to bring together true high-definition sonar, charting and radar in a best-in-class display and interface, the flexible HDS series protects against obsolescence to ensure future expansion capability for next-generation Lowrance technologies.
