With the biggest match racing event taking place in the South Pacific since the Louis Vuitton Cup in 2003, C-Tech are proud to announce that they have supplied sail battens to all participating yachts for the Louis Vuitton Pacific Series.

Here in Auckland Emirates Team NZ and BMW Oracle Cup boats are being sailed by the best of the best, sailors from 10 world-class America’s cup teams, the Olympics and World Match Racing circuits. This event returns the spectacle of Cup racing back to New Zealand’s waters, re-unites teams from 9 countries and puts Auckland back on the map for top class racing.

The last America’s Cup, hosted in Valencia during the summer of 2007, saw teams race for the ultimate prize, the Louis Vuitton Cup. The Louis Vuitton and America’s Cup are the most prestigious regatta and match race events in the sport of Sailing. Every Syndicate competing in Valencia in 2007 had CT Sailbatten products on board, a vast achievement placing C-Tech at the top of their market.

CT Sailbattens were originally developed for America’s cup mainsails in 2002. C-Tech supplied carbon fibre sail battens, its hallmark product range, to three syndicates - Team New Zealand, Alinghi and Victory Challenge.

By supplying only three syndicates C-Tech was able to maintain a high level of customer service while developing a presence in the export market.

These three syndicates found the sail battens to be stronger, lighter and more durable than any other batten tested previously in this environment. The unique batten design was so successful that a full range of sail battens was soon developed for a wide range of yachts. Based on America’s Cup technology and specifically designed for maximum resilience and breakage resistance, CT Sailbattens are a truly superior solution.

CT Sailbattens are now the first choice for many round-the-world racing teams, as well as most high-performance cruiser-racers, racing multihulls, maxis and superyachts. CT Sailbattens are currently being used by all yachts in the Volvo Ocean Race and the majority of yachts in the Vendee Globe race.

CT Sailbattens have also proved extremely durable in other high-stress environments such as the ORMA 60 multi-hull circuit and round-the-world record attempts.

CT Sailbattens are consistently produced to the highest quality standards using purpose-built machinery and custom-designed software.

'We draw from our extensive database, wealth of knowledge and experience to make the best sail battens for each type of yacht'.

Manufactured in Auckland, New Zealand, CT Sailbattens are freighted around the world on a weekly basis.

In addition to carbon fibre sail battens and sail batten hardware, C-Tech provides high-quality composite components for the marine industry.

These include carbon fibre masts for skiffs, high-performance dinghies, sports boats and small multihulls, carbon fibre prods and spinnaker poles, carbon fibre tube (round, square and rectangular profiles) and made-to-order composite components.

Louis Vuitton Pacific Series, 2009

As legal issues continue to paralyze the America’s Cup, Louis Vuitton and Emirates Team New Zealand have provided the platform for the World’s top class sailors to once again race in a top class sporting event.

C-Tech is proud to be involved with the Louis Vuitton Pacific Series.
