ISAF has announced that RS is the latest industry partner to join ISAF's Connect to Sailing initiative - a global initiative led by the ISAF to increase participation in sailing

As a leading producer of sailboats from entry level through to high performance skiffs, RS complements the existing group of partners, with a commitment to the development of grass roots sailing around the world.

Tim Coventry, ISAF Connect to Sailing consultant said: 'Connect to Sailing is about industry coming together and working with ISAF to encourage participation in emerging sailing nations. It is in all our interests to have a mutually beneficial, united approach which enables ISAF to invest further in essential initiatives like the new Learn to Sail programme, which is being rolled out during 2009. We're delighted that a company with the pedigree of RS has joined us.'

Martin Wadhams MD of RS commented: 'RS boats are now used in training fleets across the world and we recognize the importance of investing in the future of the sport. We look forward to working with the ISAF Connect to Sailing team with the potential opportunity to supply the kind of high quality equipment, service and support that are required to help organizations increase participation in sailing and keep newcomers hooked.'

RS has been created by passionate sailors and is now the world's fastest growing sailboat range with modern dinghies from entry level up to high performance skiffs.

Selected by sailing clubs and schools across the world, boats such as the RS Feva (the world's best selling two person sailboat in recent years) set new standards. For more information about the multiple award winning RS range, visit RSsailing.com

Connect to Sailing is a global initiative led by ISAF to increase participation in sailing. With a focus on youth - Connect to Sailing is based upon grass roots activities to achieve strong and lasting foundations for sailing programmes. It aims to expand and develop participation in sailing by attracting newcomers to the sport and retaining both newcomers and existing participants.

The ISAF Learn to Sail Training Programme is a 'how-to' programme to aid ISAF Member National Authorities (MNAs) in the provision of a generic national learn to sail programme. It is a comprehensive programme, aligned with established training programmes and reflecting current best practice.

As Connect to Sailing Partners, RS joins Rockley International, Laser Performance, Hobie Cat Europe, the International Sailing Summit, newtosailing.com and Hyde Sails.
