SAFYC Horsburgh Challenge 2009

by Event media on 20 Jan 2009
SAF Yacht Club’s Horsburgh Challenge SW
The Horsburgh Challenge, the major event in Singapore’s sailing calendar, is synonymous with SAFYC. It is also the most challenging keel-boat event in Singapore.

The boats will be racing to Horsburgh Lighthouse, located 35 nautical miles east of Singapore, in full blown North East Monsoon conditions. In 2009, we expect over 20 craft to take part in the race.

The SAF Yacht Club was established in 1967 and is a leading sea sports hub, providing a wide range of courses and activities from leisure to competitive sailing, kayaking, jet skiing, boating, windsurfing and more. It is the only sailing club in Singapore with two clubhouses – Changi and Sembawang.

The SAF Yacht Club has over 2,400 principal members with keen interests in sea related activities and events. It conducts six regattas which are sanctioned by Singapore Sailing Federation annually as well as internal dinghy and keelboat races for its members.
