Australian Gold Coast yard Maritimo continues to defy the economic downturn with the appointment of its first Singapore dealership.

Marketing director Luke Durman has named Hong Seh Marine as the company’s authorised Singapore representative.

Formed in 1936 as a ship’s chandlery, Hong Seh Marine specialises in the importation and distribution of luxurious and prestige brands across the automotive and marine segments.

It is the Singapore distributor for Ferrari, Maserati, MV Augusta and Cagiva motorcycles and the famed Riva boats.

Hong Seh executive director, Edward Tan, visited the Maritimo production facilities at Coomera and Hope Island early in the New Year and has placed orders for vessels.

'We’re extremely pleased with this appointment and found Edward Tan pleasant and efficient to deal with,' Durman said.

'He’s exceptionally knowledgeable in regards to the Singapore market and has chosen Maritimo based on value for money and the marque’s proven long-range cruising ability.

'I’m confident the Maritimo name sits very nicely indeed alongside that of Ferrari, Maserati and Riva.

'We look forward to a long and productive association with Hong She Marine, secure in the knowledge that we have secured one of Singapore’s most prestigious companies to represent the Maritimo marque,' he added.

The Singapore appointment gives Maritimo a wide ranging presence throughout Asia, with dealers previously appointed in China, South Korea, Thailand and Hong Kong.

Maritimo also boasts stock-carrying dealerships across the United States, in the UK, Italy and several South and Central America nations.
