Two races were completed in six-ten knots of North Easterly breeze.
Race 1 started on schedule at 1300 hours and Spanish sailors Marco Sevilia Schachermaier/Roberto Sevila (ESP 91) led the fleet to the first top mark. Australian pair Ian McCrossin and James Cook (AUS 33) put the gas on and took the lead at mark 3, which they held to take the first bullet of the regatta. ESP 91 were second and Gines Remero and Alvaro Moreno (ESP 6) were third. The first Kiwi’s, Paul Scoffin and Pavel Ruzicka (NZL 145) were fourth.
Following one general recall Race 2 got away clean under a Z flag.
