Peters and Maclean win HISC Christmas Cracker Race

The cold Northerly breeze, a steady 20 knots with 25+ gusts, did not deter the thirty sailors who turned out for the annual Christmas Cracker race at Hayling Island SC on Saturday.

James Peters and Dicken Maclean from HISC powered their RS200 around the triangular course to victory.

Sailed as an average lap event, the course was shortened as the wind chill slowed crews responses after the early laps.

In second place were Keith Walker and Rhys Picket in a Fireball and in third the Finn of John Tremlett from Mengeham Rythe SC.

Fourth went to Mark Powell sailing a Laser, fifth were Peter and Sue Bannister in their Flying 15 and rounding out the top six were Charles Apthorp and Jonathan Clark in another Fifteen.
