To mark the start of the summer sailing season, Marten Yachts will host its inaugural Marten 49 Summer Celebration. Five Marten 49s will arrive in Sydney to compete in a harbour race before attending a prize giving and BBQ function at the company's head office.

Easily distinguished by their sleek lines and stylish design, the race pedigree fleet will create a stunning collective visual on the world's most famous harbour. Together Optimus Prime, Perpetual Mocean, Sue Sea, Lorita Maria and Carrera will showcase the engineered exhilaration of the Marten brand, the ultimate vessel in dual purpose sailing.

The Marten 49 Summer Celebration initiative forms part of Marten's ongoing client service strategy. Internationally recognised for delivering superior client service and ongoing support to their owners, Marten Yachts aims to exceed expectations to ensure each owner has the best possible sailing experience.

'We differentiate from other yacht builders, not only in the quality of product we construct but the high level of personal service we offer our clients,' explains Marten Yachts Brand Manager Jason Rowed.

In addition, the company has an established after sales service division AM Care. The in-house team provides technical expertise, advice, service and life-long product support for Marten clients. AM Care Customer Service Technician Cameron Baillie will attend the Marten 49 Summer Celebration event.

Major sponsors of the event have been allocated crew positions on board the competing yachts, further increasing the pool of sailing experience and competitive spirit of the day. Steve Marten, founder of Marten Yachts will be out on the water providing one lucky owner the chance to learn some 'inside Marten sailing tips'.

Marten Yachts owner Iain Murray AM will present the prizes at the prize giving BBQ. The evening function will allow the Marten 49 owners a chance to mingle with each other and meet the event sponsors in a fun, informal atmosphere.

Sponsors SP/Gurit, Harken, Applied Composites, Club Marine, Mainstay Marine, Yanmar and Ocean Media have teamed up to offer generous prize packs for the champion Marten 49 Summer Celebration crew.

The all-carbon yacht builder can celebrate a successful 2008, having surpassed sales targets to contract through to hull 16 in the Marten 49 model. Two larger Marten Yachts have also been signed and are being constructed for international clients. The next 49 will be available for delivery towards the end of next year.
