Ronstan awarded at METS

Ronstan’s Series 40 Orbit Blocks™ was recognised for its innovative design and functionality. MIAA
Ronstan’s Series 40 Orbit Blocks™ were this year’s Category Winner for Deck Equipment, Sails and Rigging at the international METS marine show in Amsterdam last month.

In selecting the Series 40 Orbit Blocks™ for this coveted award, the independent DAME (Design Awards METS) Jury has confirmed the innovative design and functionality of Ronstan’s new Orbit Block series.

Series 40 Blocks were chosen as the one product in the category that best combines product styling, construction, functionality and a level of innovation in relation to its intended use. The DAME Jury also considers a product’s originality, ease of operation, impact on the marine industry, and a fair retail price when picking a winner.

Intended for use on small sailboats, the Series 40 Orbit Blocks™ use advanced polymer materials, Dyneema® rope link heads, and other fiber-reinforced components to achieve a very high load-to-weight ratio. According to Derek Johns, Ronstan’s Senior Product Development Engineer, 'It’s a great reward for 4 years of hard work by our Product Development and Production Engineering teams, and illustrates the key drivers in Ronstan’s product design – highest load, lightest weight, most attractive, true innovation.'

Ronstan Series 40 Orbit Blocks™ are available through Ronstan dealers worldwide.
Ronstan is home-grown in Melbourne, Australia, where its state-of-the-art design facilities, primary manufacturing plant, advanced warehousing and global distribution system handles more than 4.9 million units each year.

Internationally, Ronstan is one of the top three sailboat hardware brands in the world, respected in 45 countries. The dedicated team has worked tirelessly to develop export markets, establishing offices and warehouses in the US, UK, New Zealand and Denmark, and building strong relationships with our distribution partners around the world.

Much of the brand’s success has stemmed from its close ties with yacht racing’s elite competitors. The challenge of producing top-end, innovative hardware to satisfy the extreme demands of racing conditions has led to many of the technical breakthroughs that have raised Ronstan to its present worldwide profile.
