Arctic Journey for the Cloud Nine SW
During the summer of 2007, the sailing vessel Cloud Nine completed the transit of the fabled North West Passage, an amazing 6640 miles in 73 days. Now there's a film and a DVD available on the journy, all of which has been photographed by committed environmentalist photographer David Thoreson.
The film traces the 2007 successful sailing adventure through the Arctic's Northwest Passage aboard Roger Swanson's ketch, Cloud Nine. While telling the current story, the film/book also look back on the 1994 attempt, some history of exploration and how the Arctic is changing rapidly due to climate change.
You can read the entire story on David Thoreson's http://davidthoreson.blogspot.com/2007/12/all-climate-records-smashed-in-arctic.html!website, or you can find out how to obtain the DVD by clicking
