On Sunday 26th October, Perth Water saw the inaugural WA Sail Classic and it was a fantastic event.
As part of WA Week, Yachting WA was approached by Celebrate WA to create a feature event that was spectacular and could showcase the sport. This objective was well and truely achieved!
With 35 boats completing four high octane races in beautiful conditions, the crowds were treated to a real spectacle.
The 49ers showed off their full power as Olympics class boats, the 29ers were a very tight class with plenty of spills and the Flying Ants dominated the race course with over half the boats out there, proving that sailing is still very strong especially amongst the juniors.
