Lowrance’s unique LVR-880 fixed-mount VHF radio will shortly be available for purchase through marine retail outlets in Australia and New Zealand.

The new LVR-880 is the first powerful, fixed-mount, DSC-equipped radio to offer dual VHF and stereo FM radio capabilities, effectively replacing two components with one integrated solution. The VHF also incorporates NMEA 2000 with Class D DSC for distress and buddy-tracking features when connected to a compatible Lowrance GPS chartplotter.

The Navico exclusive ‘Track Your Buddy’ feature connects DSC position polling to Lowrance LCX, LMS and GlobalMap™ units, as well as other Navico GPS chartplotters, via the NMEA 2000 network for GPS location display of up to three boating friends.

The LVR-880 also includes a simplified intercom with talkback and built-in 22W hailer-horn, an extra-large 64x128 FSTN segmented display with backlighting and a six-key speaker microphone for left-handed or right-handed use. Featuring all international marine channels, the unit is also JIS 7 waterproof/submersible.

With a RRP of $499, the Lowrance LVR-880 comes with a full two-year warranty.
