Try Sailing in Southport

by Sail-World Cruising on 9 Oct 2008
Try sailing in Southport - the 420 SW
If you're between nine years and 21 years, fancy learning to sail, and are situated within easy distance of Southport on Queensland's Gold Coast, this could be your chance.

This Saturday 11 October from 9am to 12pm Southport School Sailing Club and Sail Training Centre will be holding a Try Sailing Day and season sign-on and everyone is invited to come and try sailing under the guidance of our experienced skippers and coaches in an array of boats including the Optimist, Laser, RS Feva, Pico, Vagabond, Corsair, Pacer and Pixel.

There is no cost for taking part and bookings are not required, just turn up with clothing prepared to get wet, and covered footwear is essential (old running shoes are fine). We provide Type 2 PFD buoyancy vests and all equipment. There will be a free sausage sizzle at midday and everyone who takes part on the day will go into a draw to win a year’s free membership of TSS Sailing Club.

Applications for membership to TSSSC are now open for the 2008-2009 Season for everyone from 9 to 21 years of age. For the cost of just $250 you can become a 'silver-card' carrying member of TSSSC which is fully affiliated with Yachting Queensland,

Receive a full year of training and competition at our accredited Yachting Australia Training Centre. This is less than the cost of a simple four-week 'learn to sail' course at some clubs!
