After just 10 years in business and staking its place as third largest cat manufacturer worldwide, with dominance in the US and Europe, South African marque, Leopard Catamarans will expand into the Australian market.

The company has already opened two offices in Brisbane and Bunderberg, Queensland, with the first of its vessels arriving soon.

According to its sales team, the company waited until it could fulfill demand with new production facilities in South Africa and China to accommodate expansion.

Sales manager Scott Woodruff said: 'We are excited to now have the production capabilities to not only service the Australian market but to be able to supply this market with a quality catamaran.'

The Leopard catamaran range consists of four models: Leopard 37 Powercat, Leopard 40, Leopard 46 and Leopard 47 Powercat.

The company is the result of working with builders Robertson and Caine and catamaran architects such as Morelli & Melvin and Simonis-Voogd Design, to design the Leopard line of blue water cruising catamarans. It proudly lays claim to more than '500 Leopard cats and more than five million miles of bluewater sailing'.

These cats have won both Cruising World Boat of The Year and Sail Magazine Top Ten awards, and offer unparalleled standards for seaworthiness and cruising performance, combined with comfort and an extensive equipment list.

The award-winning Leopard catamaran range consists of the new Leopard 46, and the Leopard 40 , Boat of the Year 2005. Among the many features are high powered engines, electronics, hard top bimini, high capacity water and fuel tanks, electric windlass and more.

Launched this year is the smaller, sporty new Leopard 37 Powercat.
