Sealegs Premieres at Ft Lauderdale

by Sealegs NZ on 17 Sep 2008
Sealegs is the amphibious boat, used as a tender or all-purpose get-about, from NZ that is making waves internationally. SW
A range of highly innovative amphibious boats are about to be unveiled for the first time in the United States at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show.

Already in use in more than 14 countries worldwide under the brand name ‘Sealegs’, these high-performance amphibious boats are equipped with retractable wheels – very similar in principle to an aircraft’s wheels – and can drive across a beach and into the water. At the touch of a button the wheels fully retract and the craft transforms into a conventional speed boat. No more boat launching hassles!

Sealegs boats, with their patented amphibious technology, are designed and built in New Zealand. In addition to fully EPA-compliant ‘clean technology’ outboard engines of up to 150hp giving a water speed of approximately 50mph, an inboard air-cooled engine drives the boat up on land at 6mph to enable boat park, lakefront or ocean-side access. More information is available at www.sealegs.com, or you can watch Sealegs in action at www.sealegs.com/home-video.asp

Over 300 Sealegs amphibious boats are already in use around the world at waterfront holiday homes, island resorts and as tenders on super yachts. Also, special purpose models are in use by government agencies in flood rescue and coast guard roles.

Sealegs amphibious boats will be on display for the first time ever in the United States at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show from 30th October to 3rd November 2008, Booth 2003 A. Free demonstrations of Sealegs amphibious boats will also be available.
