Elise Rechichi and Tessa Parkinon have won Australia's second sailing Gold medal today, taking victory in the Women's 470 medal race.

The Perth women, who are the youngest crew in the Australian Sailing Team at 22 and 21, went into the race with an 18 point lead. They played a safe race, covering their biggest threat The Netherlands throughout. The Australians crossed the line 9th to finish with a clear 10 point lead to claim the Gold Medal.

Rechichi and Parkinson have made their Olympic debut in Qingdao.

Both the Men's 470 and Women's 470 crews are coached by Victor Kovalenko.

A full wrap of Australia's sailing results for the day will be done once all racing is complete.
