Perry a spectacular motor sailing catamaran

by Rob Mundle on 18 Aug 2008
Leading Australian multihull builder, Perry Catamarans, will soon deliver the best of both worlds in boating with the release of the magnificent Perry MS-59 motor sailer.

As the name suggests, the new concept will see a single vessel boasting the Five Star comfort and grand performance for which Perry is famous across its entire range of sailing and power catamarans. Perry MS-59 owners will enjoy the leisurely pace of cruising under a spread or sail, or be able to make haste under power at more than 20 knots.

The experience will come with additional bonuses, like the stable, on-the-level cruising that a Perry catamaran always offers, and low fuel consumption thanks to an efficient hull shape.

The 18-metre long Perry MS-59 is a casual lifestyle yacht that will incorporate all the wonderful features found on the highly successful Perry 57 sailing catamaran, and the 62ft flybridge Perry 62 motor yacht. The massive internal volume will make this vessel comparable in size to an 80ft monohull, while the gleaming timberwork and plush furnishings throughout the superbly appointed interior will take the owner and guests into a world of luxury cruising seldom seen on a production yacht.

Two orders were placed for the Perry MS-59 after word of its imminent release filtered through the crowds at the recent Sydney International Boat Show, and more orders are close to being finalised.

The response to the Perry MS-59 has so impressed Perry Catamarans’ owner, Allan Barnett, that he is now developing plans for the Perry MS-45.5, a hybrid of the company’s legendary world cruising sailing catamaran, the Perry 43, and the well proven Perry 44.5 motor yacht.
