Olympic Sailing Sunday - 49er, Finn and Yngling

A third class joins the two classes already racing on day two of the sailing events of the 2008 Olympic Games. Sunday sees the first races for the 49er class and get underway at 06:00 hrs UK time on Sunday morning, 10 August.

Three races are scheduled for the 49er class and two each for the Finn and Yngling classes.

The 49er is another class that Britain has high hopes of providing Gold. Olympic sailing first-timers Stevie Morrison and Ben Rhodes have done well at major world events, including bronze, gold and silver medals from the past three 49er World Championships, and the Olympic Test Event victory at Qingdao in 2007 so they are proven performers on the Olympic race track.

The 49er fleet is a tough one, with a great depth of ability so the winners could come from amongst many of the teams. In the right conditions, the races are short and quick and can be very physical for the crews. Hopefully their will be more wind than there was for the opening day and the 49ers will be seen at their best.

Also racing Sunday are the Finn and Yngling fleets, their races three and four. Britain's Yngling team of Sarah Ayton, Sarah Webb and Pippa Wilson head the table after day one and Ben Ainslie is third in the Finn event.
