The Australian Finn Mid Year Championships are to be held at Adelaide Sailing Club on 6 and 7 September 2008.

Borrowing from the idea that has made the Winter Championships for the Etchells at Moolmoolaba such a successful event for the class, a couple of the South Australian members, led by Mark Roberts have set in motion the inaugural Finn Mid Year Championships.

The event, to be hosted by Adelaide Sailing Club over the weekend of 6 and 7 September, will see the Finns racing a scheduled 8 races over a windward leeward short course. This event is intended to meet a number of goals including to help prepare the Australian Finn fleet for the intense summer schedule ahead, which includes the Sail Downunder events in December followed by the Australian National Championships, also being hosted in Adelaide, between 5 and 9 January 2009.

A great opportunity to pull the boats out of the shed and get those legs back into training! The Notice of Race and Entry Form are attached. We look forward to seeing a big fleet racing in Adelaide for this new and exciting event.'
