RS200 UK Nationals, 3 Weeks to go, 106 Entries

by RS Association on 5 Aug 2008
RS200 Nationals at Exe SC RS200

The entries for the RS200 Nationals at Hayling Island SC, passed 100 this week with three weeks still to go (24 to 28 August). With no cap on numbers, this is set to be the biggest RS200 championship to date. Make sure you get your online entry in before this weekend to avoid the increased charge for late entries - 8 August.

Entries in this star-studded fleet include: Current RS200 and Merlin National Champion, two past RS200 National Champions (one of which has won the inlands 5 times!), multiple SB3 champions, the current 420 youth nationals champion, both of the current 29er youth world champions (boys and girls), ex 49er National Champion and current 470 Squad sailors.

To compliment the fantastic sailing there’s a full social and seminar program, including the infamous fancy dress night. Also there will be the ever popular buddy system to spread expertise throughout the fleet, as well as to give everyone (especially those national virgins) at least two other boats who they can drink beer with.

If you're not already familiar with the structure of the RS200 fleet; it is divided into gold, silver and bronze. Allocation to fleet is according to previous results in 200's - or, if new to the fleet, other boats (just in case there are any jokers in the pack!). A boat is then taken from each fleet to become buddies for the nationals’ week.

There will be prizes both on and off the water all week for buddies, so make sure you find each other early on!
