Every dollar raised by Gladstone Pacific Nickel Limited via the auction running until 31 July 2008 will be donated to the company’s long term partner, Anglicare Central Queensland for continuing their work in providing housing in the Gladstone region.

Gladstone Pacific Nickel Limited were sponsors of this year’s historic 60th Brisbane to Gladstone Yacht Race held over Easter when Volvo Globe racer Ichi Ban took out line honours for the second consecutive year.

The stylishly framed white long sleeve shirt has been signed by the full Ichi Ban crew made up of some of Australia’s best known sailors like Matt Allen, Michael Spies and Warwick Rooklyn.

Gladstone Pacific Nickel Limited CEO John Downie hopes as many sporting and sailing fans as possible will log a bid for this special shirt which has a firm place in Australia’s sailing history.

“This specially autographed shirt is one of just two signed by the mighty Ichi Ban crew and a wonderful memento of the phenomenal 60th Brisbane to Gladstone Race,” Mr Downie said.

“We are delighted to be able to continue our celebration of the great yacht race and strengthen our ties with Anglicare Central Queensland in their mission to develop housing for specific needs groups in Gladstone.”

Anglicare Central Queensland’s Mandy Jones thanked Gladstone Pacific Nickel Limited for their initiative in throwing open this charity auction to members of the public.

“The Brisbane to Gladstone Yacht Race is a tremendous event asset for Gladstone and Anglicare Central Queensland is delighted to be a part of this charity auction that not just further commemorates the 60th anniversary of the race but will raise much needed funds for Anglicare’s work,” Ms Jones said.

“The funds from this charity auction will go towards Anglicare Central Queensland’s work in housing the diverse needs of individuals and families throughout the Gladstone region.”

To bid in the auction, simply log on to www.gladstonepacific.com.au before 5pm on 31 July 2008 to place a silent bid.

Gladstone Pacific Nickel Limited is an Australian mining development company planning a state-of-the-art nickel cobalt development in Gladstone’s port.
