PFD Australia takes life jackets to a new level

PFD Australia has taken life jackets to a whole new level with its all-new range on display at the 48th Annual BIA Melbourne Boat Show. The all-new design is a soft-shell jacket that looks like a smart-hooded jacket but operates as a proper PFD1 when called for.

Both the hood and the sleeves zip off, so it’s adaptable to a wide range of operating and weather conditions.

It comes in a choice of smart fashion colours for normal wear, but the bright yellow bladder ensures it remains highly visible when deployed.

With compulsory wearing of life jackets in smaller boats and at times of heightened risk, and the simple good sense of wearing them at many times even when not compulsory, the new jacket is an appealing option.

There is nothing quite like it on the market, and it will join hundreds of new boats and marine products that will be on display at this year’s Show from July 3-7 at the Melbourne Exhibition Centre.

Among the special offers at the Show are boat licence training and testing sessions conducted by the Australian Volunteer Coast Guard. The sessions will run at 10.30am and 3pm daily, with additional sessions on Friday July 4 and Saturday July 5 at 6:30pm.

Best of all, visitors have the opportunity to win a stunning fully equipped Quintrex 560 Freedom Cruiser boat package valued at over $40,000, courtesy of JV Marine World, as well as many other great prizes.

The Melbourne Boat Show is organised by the Boating Industry Association (BIA) of Victoria and runs from Thursday 3 July to Monday 7 July at the Melbourne Exhibition Centre.

Opening hours are 10am to 9pm daily except Sunday, when the show closes at 7pm, and Monday when the show closes at 8pm. Tickets can be pre-purchased by visiting www.biavic.com.au and following the links.
