The Kevlacat powered catamarans are now available in NSW through power-boat experts Andrew Short Marine, the first dealer to offer these Australian-built boats to the NSW market.
Kevlacat offers a range of 12 models ranging in size from 5.2m to 9.8m. The boats are constructed with safety and seaworthiness in mind. They are eminently suitable for recreational pursuits and commercial applications.

It is a company that boasts within its products outstanding design and craftsmanship, coupled with enormous performance, reliability, comfort and economy. With 20 years of manufacturing experience under their belts, this Queensland company produces powerful, safe vessels.

As the only NSW dealer for the Kevlacat brand, Andrew Short Marine has made it easier for Kevlacat enthusiasts to buy the perfect boat for their lifestyle. Prior to this partnership, power boaties had to travel to Queensland to take advantage of the Kevlacat experience.

There are a number of key attractions of the Kevlacat range. They are versatile in their use. Along with finding them being enjoyed as recreational boats, they are also used throughout Australia by the water police, coast guard and other rescue groups.

The twin-hull boats are constructed using strong and durable Kevlar/composite materials.

All the models can be built to survey making them very popular with professional fisherman, dive charter operators, ferry operators and paraflying operators.

The 5 metre - perfect entry level

There is a choice of two designs in the 5 metre Kevlacat range. The newest is the 1900 Offshore which is a re-launch of their previous 5.2m model. This boat is the 'perfect entry level Kevlacat'. Its size is attractive to power boaties looking for an easy to handle craft with powerful capacity.

A versatile platform, the boat is small enough to be trailed around the country.



The sporty, stylish 5.8m series 2100 Offshore boasts large internal volume. The new features of the 5.8m are a rounded windscreen, new walk through transom as well as fibreglass engine pods. The cabin area houses two single bunks with plenty of head room normally found in a larger vessels, with the option to install an electric toilet under the port side bunk.

Kevlacat’s 5.8m package includes a custom built trailer designed to minimise hassles at the boat ramp.

'These boats are trailerable behind the average mid-sized SUV. The 1900/2100 series Kevlacats will punch well above their weight in all conditions providing a dry and stable platform for demanding offshore trips.'

The 6 metre - for serious fishermen

The 6.5m 2400 Offshore is designed to meet the needs of the serious sports fisherman. If offers a drier and softer ride. The fuel capacity suits venturing offshore while still being trailerable. This boat opens up endless opportunities for the travelling angler.



The 6.5m package also includes a custom built trailer with full drive-on and drive-off capability, power boosted disc brakes on all four wheels, Alko independent suspension and water proof wheel bearings.

'The 2400 series is one of the largest legally trailerable boats (no restrictions) available in Australia. They have the ability to handle anything you throw at it. With a full galley option available, weekends with the family are now achievable in absolute comfort and safety.'

The 7 metre - in a class of its own

The 7.2m series 2800 is in a class of its own when it comes to proven performance and reliability. Popular with game fishing tournament competitors, it is a brilliant platform to fish from providing sea worthiness and stability. With two 170hp Yanmar diesel shaft drive motors, fuel economy is exceptional.

It has a wide beam of 2.77m offering space to suit serious the fishermen and huge cabin area which can be customised to give incredible space and family comforts.

The 8 metre - comfort and stability

There are two Kevlacat 8m designs on offer. The 8.0m series 3000 comes with either open style hardtop, cuddy cabin or lockable hardtop. The engine package options are outboard, diesel/petrol or stern/shaft drive.

The 8.2m series 3100 features a wide beam. This translates to a huge amount of deck space; a feature which has not gone unnoticed by commercial operators over the years. It also means there is plenty of internal room to fit comforts required for a weekend of boating.

'As semi-custom vessels, the 7.2 and 8m range of Kevlacats can be configured for hard core day fishing or for those great long weekends cruising the coast. With performance that measures well above its class, the ride and stability of these magnificent vessels has to be experienced to believed.'

The 9 metre - versatility, high power and luxury

There is also two Kevlacat 9m designs to tempt the serious offshore power boatie. There is the 9.4m series 3400 and the 9.8m series 3700.

The 9.8m is versatile offering several configurations. Owners can choose from fully enclosed hardtop or flybridge or with a tuna tower. The boat has earned the reputation of as one of the best sea boats in Australia.

The interior design and layout this model is popular amongst family boaties with plenty of space to relax and spread out. The boat suits trolling for blue marlin or anchored up in a protected waterway entertaining friends. It really is an ideal weekender.

Good construction, high performance
