Gold Coast luxury boat builder Mustang Marine has reported on a 'very successful few days' following the 20th Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show.
According to CEO Chris Heaton, the company enjoyed sales that were higher than expected.
The company adopted a radical new approach this year, displaying their range on the man-made lagoon of the luxury Hyatt Regency Hotel instead of the more traditional marina exhibition.
It obviously worked to the company’s satisfaction as it has confirmed it will stage its display on the lagoon for the next five-years.
The setting certainly added to the display, offering a relaxing and tranquil viewing of the company’s sports cruiser and flying bridge ranges.
Leading into the show, Mustang said sales expectations were difficult to predict.
'However, it proved to be an extremely rewarding show for the Mustang team,' Heaton added.
'The different location proved to be the perfect setting for potential customers to view and appreciate our product and this was reflected in our higher than anticipated sales figures,' he explained.
Mustang Marine also hosted a number of international guests, among them potential dealers from Asia, Europe and the Middle East.
'We have been working tirelessly to build an effective distribution network and with the new direction and product development now being undertaken, potential dealers are excited at the opportunity of becoming involved,' international sales manager, Jan den Braber said.
In addition to confirmed sales, the company also reported ‘promising interest’ shown in pending new releases, the 430 Sports Coupe and the M56 Sports Flybridge.
Both are scheduled for release early in 2009.
The company went fully into the celebratory mode on the Saturday evening of the show when more than 200 owners and guests turned out for the Mustang Beach Party around the lagoon.
Live entertainment, fireworks displays, even a mechanical surfboard on hand for those willing to try their luck, all contributed to a fun evening.
'It’s all behind us now, ' Heaton said, 'We’re back at work and concentrating on further development of our retail operations and our product development program.
'We’re all ahead full to meet our ’09 deadlines for the introduction of our new models,' he added.
