Australia’s most successful wakeboarder, Daniel Watkins, (who co-founded the Australian Pro Tour of Wakeboarding, is a three-times National Champion, three-times Australian Pro Tour Champion and X-Games medallist.) has opened his new Burleigh Heads (QLD) boat dealership – Propel Sports.

The dealership continues the former world champion’s mission to grow the sport of wakeboarding in Australia by aligning quality boat brands – Tigé and Lewis – with the staple of leading products available through his national chain of Deja Vu Ski and Board superstores.

According to Watkins, selecting boat brands for Propel Sports was simple.

'Tigé has always been a unique wakeboard boat… the Convex V hull with TAPS2 wake-enhancing technology making it the most versatile, family friendly boat on the water,' Watkins said.

'With Tigé’s new, state-of-the-art manufacturing plant in Texas (USA) and a production team dedicated to making the brand the number one wakeboard boat company in the world, the quality is now better than ever!

'We’ve worked very hard to establish and maintain a competitive price for these impressive boats in the Australian market, which we’re able to offer through Propel Sports.'

Having introduced thousands of youngsters to the sport and nurtured them through their development, the inclusion of an entry-level boat in Propel’s range was also of utmost importance to Watkins.

'There is no better entry level boat than a Lewis,' he said. 'Lewis has been building boats for 25 years and is the most-recognised waterski boat manufacturer in Australia… the boats have an excellent price point and produce a great wake. 'You need only look around your local lakes to see Lewis boats that were built 10 to 20 years ago still going strong, which should give customers a huge amount of confidence in the longevity of their investment.'

The association between Daniel Watkins’ Deja Vu Ski and Board store, Tigé and Lewis will create some exciting opportunities for customers to get further involved in wakeboarding. 'Our upcoming events calendar for Queensland proves the fusion of these three companies will offer wakeboarders plenty of fun, grass-roots events that everyone can come along and enjoy,' Watkins said.

To join the mailing list and keep up-to-date with the event calendar, contact the team via email: labrador@dejavuski.com or sales@propelsports.com.au or drop into Propel Sports at: 3/5 Taree Street, Burleigh Heads QLD.
