Auckland Musket Cove Race underway today

The Auckland to Musket Cove (Fiji) race gets underway today attracting a total of 23 entries in two divisions.

The Cruising division started on Wednesday. The Racing Division, which has attracted several 50-52ft canting keelboats, including Wired, Pussy Galore, Ran Tan II and V5 gets underway today off Orakei Wharf at 1200hrs.

The event will feature the new TracPlus system for position updates and reporting.

Starting adjacent to Orakei Wharf!  Fantastic public viewing of the start from Orakei Wharf, Devonport Wharf or North Head.

Cruising Division - Quintessence

8.10am - All well, 15-18knots of wind, sailing comfortably.

Destination - Musket Cove Resort

The fleet leave the cooler winter waters of New Zealand and head north to the warm tropical waters of sunny Fiji.

The Musket Cove Resort is their destination on Malololailai Island off the coast of Denarau.
