On Monday 19th of May took place the presentation of Navantia Sailing Team, currently IMS/ORC 670 World Champion, in Puerto Real (Cadiz), one of the factories of the shipbuilder Navantia in Spain.

Navantia is a Spanish shipbuilder who is leading the high-tech naval shipbuilding sector in Europe. Since 2007, Navantia is working for the Royal Australian Navy in the construction of the new generation of AWD (Air Warfare Destroyer) and amphibious ships.


The presentation act of Navantia Sailing Team was headed by Juan Pedro Gomez Jaen (President of Navantia), who started the cycle of speeches, followed by Jesus Pintos (Skipper of Navantia Sailing Team) and Manuel Jimenez Barrios (Sports General Secretary of Andalucia).

Jesus Pintos gave the welcome for the new members of the Team: Jose Barreras (Navigator and Electronics), Florian Kreis (Ship Maintenance and Mastman), Jesus Amaliach (Cockpit) and Bruno Coira (Bowman and Mast). Also was welcome Miguel Canas Campoamor (MCC McCamp in Sail-World NZL) as Photographer of Navantia Sailing Team. There was thanks giving to Pilar Mesa, ex Cockpit.


The rest of the Team is the same who won the 2007 IMS 670 World Championship: Roi Alvarez (Trimmer and Financial Manager of Navantia Sailing Team), Javier Aguado (Tactician and Mainsail Trimmer), Joan Fullana (Mastman), Juan Filgueira (Trimmer), Robin Imaz (Trainer), Ruben Fernandez (Libero and Coach) and Manu Millan (Auxiliary Boat).

New Caledonia Groupama Race update
