US SAILING Benefits- Discounts at sailboat shows

by Marlieke de Lange Eaton on 10 Apr 2008
Strictly Sail Pacific SW
US SAILING, national governing body for the sport, has teamed up with Sail America, the trade association for the U.S. sailing industry, to provide US SAILING members with an exclusive discount to visit Sail America and National Marine Manufacturers Association's (NMMA) popular Strictly Sail sailboat shows and SailFests. Under the new agreement, US SAILING members will enjoy a discount of two tickets for the price of one for all of the upcoming Strictly Sail and SailFest events in the next year.

The new partnership enables US SAILING members to enjoy the best discount offered in the sailing industry: purchase one ticket and get a second ticket free, which applies to all ticket types (including weekday, weekend, two-day and five-day passes) to all upcoming Strictly Sail and SailFest events in the next year:
* Strictly Sail Pacific, Oakland, Calif.: April 16-20, 2008
* Virginia In-Water Boat Expo and SailFest: Sept 14-16, 2008
* Strictly Sail St. Petersburg, Fla.: Nov 2008 (exact dates to be confirmed)
* Baltimore Boat Show, Md. (featuring SailFest): Jan 21-25, 2009
* Strictly Sail Chicago, Ill.: Jan 29-Feb 1, 2009
* Strictly Sail Miami, Fla.: Feb 12-16, 2009

The partnership kicks off with the upcoming Strictly Sail Pacific show, the largest sailboat show on the West Coast, to be held April 16-20 at Jack London Square in Oakland, Calif.

Based on the very successful Morning Light Preview organized by US SAILING last month in Newport, R.I., Sail America will host a similar preview of select scenes from the film at Strictly Sail Pacific on Thursday, April 17. Executive Producers Roy E. Disney and Leslie DeMeuse-Disney, along with Morning Light crew Piet van Os and Graham Brant-Zawadski, will present select clips from the movie and answer questions. The event is open to exhibitors and boat show ticket holders for that day.
