The top Sydney 38 Barry Moore's Blowfly started the series with two bullets yesterday but slipped back this morning with a fourth in the One Design class.
However she sealed the series in the final race in the regatta taking a second behind Grant Halliday and James Cormack's No Options when London Tavern had a sheet come out come out of a self tailer in the last critical 60 metres.
Moore and his stalwart crew have more time on their Sydney 38 than any else and time and time again they exhibited the slickest crew-work, particularly on the corners and that was the difference in this tight series.
The curiously named new boat, London Tavern won race three this morning and came third in the final race to take overall second on a count back from Matte Wenke's Racing Line Next.
Justin Lambeth named his new Sydney 38 after his father Ken's London Tavern sponsored soccer team who were known as Championship chasers and that looks likely to be an ongoing tradition.
Racing with a Dacron main, the ex-Beneteau 375 crew showed that they are likely to figure in many championships in years to come.
