Black Match Racing is heading over to Europe this week and will be kicking off an eight month Match Racing tour with a regatta in Italy on the 4th of April.
The latest ISAF World Rankings have seen us rise to 30th in the World, this puts us in good stead to continue our rise through the ranks, with entry to the first three World Tour Events already confirmed.
The World Tour has 10 Stages which will see regatta's held in Brazil, Germany, Italy, Korea, Sweden, Portugal, Denmark, Switzerland, Bermuda and Malaysia. With the 'who's who' of Match Racing (generally top 10 in the World and America's Cup Syndicates) competing on the World Tour, we feel very privileged to be have already gained entry into the Brazil Sailing Cup, Match Race Germany and Korea Match.
We are hoping to gain entry and compete in as many of the World Tour events as we can, but we will also be competing in various other Grade 1,2 and 3 events throughout Europe to help boost our ranking.
April will see us firstly competing in the Trofeo Match Race Comandante Miele, this is a grade 3 event that is held on the Island of Elba, off the coast of Italy from the 4th-6th. Next up we will compete in the Morbihan Match which is a grade 2 in France, from the 17th to the 20th and we will finish the month with the Brazil Cup from the 21st -26th.
We will continue to update everyone as best we can and would again like to thank our sponsors FedEx Express, Line 7 and Waiwera Infinity, also a big thank you to our yacht club, the Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron, for all of their support.
We would also like to make a special mention to Simon Dickey and his web design company, Frontend Design for helping us launch our website www.blackmatchracing.com
Regards,
Black Match Racing
