Adams 10m Owners win Audis at Audi Sydney Harbour

by Mitchell Miller on 4 Mar 2008
Ben Nossiter and the crew of Sirius on winning a 2008 model Audi A4 - Audi Sydney Harbour Regatta Mitchell Miller
While standing on the beach at MHYC before the Audi Sydney Harbour Regatta presentation, I was having a chat with Shane, crew member on Ben Nossiter’s A10m Sirius.

“How did the driving go?” I asked. “It was great fun driving the Audi TT and I was glad it wasn’t my car being thrown around the cones. The smell of burning rubber and car was pretty strong!” I asked again. “So how do you reckon you went?” Shane says “No idea. They wouldn’t give us any times”.

Brendan was the other crew member driving for Team Nossiter and obviously Shane and Brendan came up with the winning formula even though I don’t think they really know exactly what that is!

Congratulations to Ben and the crew of Sirius on winning a 2008 model Audi A4 worth $70,000!

Next on the presentation agenda was the drawing of the Audi A3 hatch - $40,000 worth of lucky door prize!

Joerg Hofmann, head of Audi Australia, drew the first boat out of a hat. He announces that “Holy Grail” is the winner of the car!

No one from “Holy Grail” is at the presentation so in the Aussie chook raffle tradition everyone screams “redraw! redraw!” Joerg obliges and draws again, and again, and again until he announces “Contentious”! Yes Brian Lees’ “Contentious”, the A10m that has won the previous two Audi Sydney Harbour Regattas.

Brian graciously accepts the keys to his new Audi A3 and is obviously happy after having not such a great regatta this year – winning a heat only to find he was OCS at the start and losing any chance of winning the regatta.
