Sydney Harbour to host Queen Victoria and QE2

On February 23, 24 and 25, Sydneysiders will be treated to the visit of two of the best known Queens – ocean liners Queen Victoria and QE2.

It will be Queen Victoria’s first visit to Sydney and QE2’s final call – 30 years to the day since her maiden visit.

Both ships will meet in an historic ‘royal rendezvous’ on Sydney Harbour on the evening of Sunday, 24 February at approximately 6.30pm.

Skippers are advised spectator vessels are welcome, but must remain outside of exclusion zones.

There will be no fireworks planned as part of the three-day visit.

Exclusion zones

Skippers of spectator vessels must remain outside of exclusion zones while the ships are in SydneyHarbour.

A 400m ahead and 60m exclusion zone – to the left and right and behind the ships - will apply while the Queen Victoria and the Queen Elizabeth 2 are moving through SydneyHarbour.

A 60m exclusion zone will apply while the ships are berthed.

Geographic exclusion zones will apply when the ships are passing each other on Sunday, 24 February at approximately 6pm. Spectator vessels must remain behind:

West – area extending from Millers Point to Blues Point on the western side of the SydneyHarbourBridge

North – area extending from CremornePointWharf to KirribilliWharf
East – area extending from Robertsons Point to GardenIsland (for vessels intending to accompany Queen Victoria as she departs Sydney)

South – the mouth of Farm Cove

New Caledonia Groupama Race update
