Now for Simrad and Northstar DIRECT
by IBI News on 22 Dec 2007
Navico Australia is to begin supplying Simrad and Northstar marine electronics to all Australian dealers and boatbuilders direct from its Sydney-based logistics centre, effective immediately.
The move is a result of several factors, including the strengthening of the Australian dollar and the establishment of Navico's own support infrastructure.
'The key factor in our decision is that Navico wants to move one step closer to the customer and the customer experience,' says John Scott, chief operations officer at Navico Asia Pacific. 'Our intention is to embark on a strong training programme to ensure key dealers are not only trained on Simrad and Northstar premium level products, but also have direct access to second and third tier support infrastructure.'
Headquartered in Oslo, Norway, Navico is the parent company to seven well-established marine electronics brands: B&G, Eagle, Lowrance, MX Marine, Navman, Northstar and Simrad. The company has development and manufacturing facilities in the US, Mexico, Norway, Denmark, the UK and New Zealand.
