Ian Williams and his Team Pindar crew (GBR) has just defeated Peter Gilmour and his PST crew (AUS), 3 - 1, to take the Monsoon Cup here on Pulau Duyong this afternoon.
Williams certainly had that 'determined look' in his eyes as he strode down the dock at The Heritage Bay Club earlier this afternoon.
Yesterday Williams won the ISAF World Match Racing Title and today's skilful display of match racing proved he is a worthy recipient of that crown.
He matched Gilmour move for move and forced Gilmour to carry penalties. Gilmour fought hard, but could never gain the required clearance on Williams to complete his turns and win.
In the Petite Final Bjorn Hansen (Appor.Net) defeated Paolo Cian (Team Shosholova) 2-1.
