The bulk of the G.Gray Motor Body Repairs 28th Gosford to Lord Howe race fleet is expected to arrive at Lord Howe Island overnight.

At this afternoon radio sked, Koolewong, the Gosford Beneteau 40.7, skippered by John McDougall had taken the lead from the Townsville boat Zoe, with Tara (previously Atara) in third place.

In the PHS class, on handicap, the majestic Fidelis less than 40 miles from Lord Howe is leading from Valtair, with Ben Adamson’s little Carter 30 still 140 miles away.

Three boats have already moored in South Passage. Line 7 arrived at 9am, Valtair at 14:25 and Eureka at 14:59.

Sixteen boats are likely to spend the evening hove too offshore waiting for dawn when they can come into the South passage and Lagoon mooring areas.

Tara, Zoe, Fidelis, Loki, Occasional Coarse Language, Koolewong, Crossing, Cuckoos Nest should arrive in that order before midnight. Bright Morning Star, Sextant and AFR Midnight Rambler should arrive before dawn.

All the detailed race information is viewable on the official race web site at Sail-World
